Basic Reservoir Management Course
Introduction:
The Basic Reservoir Engineering course aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of oil and gas reservoirs, covering various aspects including fluid and rock characteristics, reservoir definition, delineation, classification, development, and production. The course emphasizes the collection, integration, and application of data to optimize recovery and maximize net present value.
Throughout the course, participants will be introduced to fundamental reservoir engineering equations, with a focus on understanding the significance of parameters and interpreting the results. This course has been highly regarded and successful for nearly 20 years.
To facilitate learning, the Basic Reservoir Engineering course incorporates class exercises that can be solved manually with a calculator. However, participants who prefer to utilize spreadsheets for calculations are encouraged to bring their own laptop computers.
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- How to collect and analyze the data needed for reservoir engineering tasks
- The fundamentals of fluid flow in porous media
- How reservoirs are characterized by fluid type and drive mechanisms
- The basis for reservoir fluid distribution
- About oil and gas well performance and pressure buildup analysis
- About oil displacement and optimizing reservoir performance
- The basics of enhanced oil recovery
- How oil and gas in place can be estimated and recovery predicted
Who Should Attend?
Geologists, geophysicists, engineers, engineering trainees, technical managers, technical assistants, technicians, chemists, physicists, technical supervisors, service company personnel, sales representatives, data processing personnel, and support staff working with reservoir engineers and wanting to understand the process of reservoir definition, development, and production, or engineers newly placed in a reservoir engineering position that want a first reservoir engineering course at the Basic level.
