Introduction:
Ensuring a safe working environment for employees is the primary obligation of employers. It is essential to safeguard workers against workplace injuries and illnesses. Notably, a performance-based occupational health and safety management system specification called OHSAS 18001 has been recently developed in the UK. This specification aligns with ISO 9001 for quality management systems and ISO 14001 for environmental management systems, and it is anticipated to serve as a precursor to an international standard in the future.
