Hazardous Waste Management and Pollution Control Prevention (HAZWOPER) Course
Introduction:
The purpose of this five-day course is to provide participants with an introductory understanding of the management of hazardous industrial wastes, along with strategies for preventing and mitigating pollution resulting from routine operations, accidental releases, and other incidents.
The program will cover various aspects, including the characteristics of hazardous substances, waste disposal methods (including pre- and post-treatment), and pollution prevention measures. These topics will be explored within the framework of local and international legislation, guidance, and industry best practices.
Workshops will also be conducted to introduce participants to the application of ISO 14001, which is a specification for an Environmental Management System. This system serves as a valuable tool for pollution prevention.
By the end of the course, delegates will have gained a comprehensive understanding of hazardous waste management, pollution prevention techniques, and the application of ISO 14001. They will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage hazardous wastes, prevent pollution, and adhere to relevant regulations and industry standards.
