Introduction:
HSE Management System auditing entails an independent evaluation conducted by an organization to examine and assess its operations. The primary goal of HSE auditing is to provide management with valuable information to support decision-making and aid the organization's members in fulfilling their responsibilities effectively.
Through HSE auditing, the organization receives analyses, assessments, recommendations, guidance, and information pertaining to the activities under review. These audits assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization's HSE control system and evaluate the quality of performance. The format and level of detail of the information provided to different members of the organization may vary, depending on the specific requirements and requests of the individuals commissioning the audit(s).
Course Objectives:
This state-of-the-art course is designed by our Engineering Team to prepare HSE auditors for the examination of the USA Board of Environmental, Health & Safety Auditor Certifications (BEAC). This course meets and exceeds the requirements for training the candidates for BEAC® Certified Auditor (CPEA).
Upon the successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:-
- Apply and gain an in-depth knowledge of the HSE management system model to discuss the HSE international standards
- Employ HSE policy and identify the components of the HSE management system (HSEMS) structure
- Analyze the hierarchy of HSE documents and recognize the responsibilities of HSEMS
- Identify the elements of the HSE management system model and be able to know their features and functions
- Understand the legal background
- Appreciate the key elements of a safety management system
- Develop the skills necessary to undertake audits and site inspections successfully
- Understand the importance of and how to assess the safety culture of an organization
- Evaluate the emergency plans of an organization
- Carry out the latest control methodology including job hazard analysis, change analysis, process hazard analysis, phase hazard analysis, and describe the hierarchy of hazard controls
- Identify the auditor’s ethics & standards of conduct and be able to recognize their importance in safety auditing, hazard identification & site inspection
- Improve audit program design & management taking consideration the protocols, checklists, and guidelines needed for its planning & implementation
- Conduct audit engagement by observing the pre-audit activities, on-site-activities, and post-audit activities
- Discuss the audit of internal control systems including the process of preparing, coordinating, directing, and obtaining feedback as well as the audit of regulatory aspects & requirements and recognize the audit of process operations, environmental impacts, and the related control technology
- Determine the auditor personal qualities and communication including the attitude, adaptability, determination, and leadership
- Plan & conduct a site inspection and manage an effective inspection program
